HISTORY & BACKGROUNDS
Bukit Beruntung Golf & Country Resort (BBGC) is a proprietary golf club with a 18-hole championship-length golf course designed by Instant Green Berhad & Ekovest Berhad that was built in 1993 and operated by Bukit Beruntung Golf & Country Resort Berhad. BBGC was developed initially by the Talam Group vide Europlus Berhad, whom later on transferred the ownership of BBGC to the Selangor State Government, initially through Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor (PKPS) and subsequently to Menteri Besar Selangor (Pemerbadanan) (MBI) until present.
MBI is a statutory body of the Selangor State Government that is established to administer assets and investments of the Selangor State Government and the represent the State in economic and business activities that are beyond the state government jurisdictions.
Bukit Beruntung Golf & Country Resort Berhad is a wholly owned subsidiary of MBI. Previously BBGC was outsourced to be managed by third party operators by both PKPS and MBI. However in December 2019, MBI had decided to manage BBGC on its own as a new way forward in restoring BBGC back to prominence within golfing circles in Malaysia.
